The White House responded strongly to the Season 27 premiere episode, titled “Sermon on the Mount”, which aired on July 23, 2025, where Donald Trump was the subject of mockery.

The episode featured an extreme satire against President Donald Trump, represented with a real face on an animated body. It included scenes where Trump discussed the representation of his penis with a White House artist, starred in a sexual scene in bed with Satan, and appeared naked in the desert through a deepfake among other provocative situations.

During the episode, Trump sues the town of South Park for allowing a Jesus figure in the elementary school. Ultimately, the lawsuit is lost, and the show is forced to produce pro-Trump commercials featuring a naked body double roaming the desert, his cartoonish penis complete with eyes, delivering the message: “His penis is tiny, but his love for us is immense.”

Official response from the White House

A White House spokesman, Taylor Rogers, issued a strong criticism of the episode:

He called it a “desperate attempt to get attention” and dismissed South Park as a fourth-rate program, claiming that it has had no relevance for over 20 years and that its ideas are unoriginal.

He also pointed out the alleged hypocrisy of the left in supporting the program now that it is criticizing Trump, alluding that the "left" supports offensive content only when it is directed against their political adversary.

He also alluded to Trump's success: "He's fulfilled more promises in just six months than any other president in history," asserting that not even a cheap show will derail his momentum.

Response from the creators of South Park

At Comic-Con held in San Diego on July 24, 2025, Trey Parker reacted sarcastically to the controversy surrounding him and Matt Stone.

“We are terribly sorry,” followed by a long, serious look.

He explained that the producers suggested censoring the penis scene, which he refused to do. They decided to keep it and add eyes to make it a more prominent character in the episode. This controversial decision was part of a long debate within the production.

He confirmed that the episode also satirizes Paramount's deal with Trump, the recent $1.4T16 million settlement, while they signed a massive $1.4T1.5 billion contract to produce additional episodes.
