New Red Sox Uniforms Pay Tribute to Fenway Park

The Red Sox's new City Connect uniforms were released as part of the City Connect collection. These new uniforms, called "Fenway Greens," pay homage to the oldest stadium in MLB.
Inspiration Behind the Fenway Greens
The Red Sox City Connect uniforms are an adaptation of the iconic wall known as the Green Monster, located in left field. This 2,320-square-foot wall was rebuilt in 1934 and painted green in 1947.
The Fenway Greens were developed over two years in collaboration with Nike, focusing attention on the stadium and its legacy. The design includes numerous hidden details, such as a shade of green that perfectly matches that of the Green Monster.
The “Red Sox” text on the front of the jersey mimics the hand-painted font of the Red Sox scoreboard. Green MonsterThe collar features a concrete-like pattern, with the number “1912” embroidered inside, in honor of Fenway’s opening year.
Among the most striking details are three green dots and four red dots near the hem, representing the hand signals for balls, strikes, and outs on the Fenway scoreboard. The front features bright yellow numbers, reminiscent of the run markers, while the back uses traditional white digits.
Another hidden detail: on the sleeve there is a circular patch with the letter “B”, referring to the lights of the Monster that mark “H” (hit) and “E” (error).
Debut in the Field
The new City Connect uniforms made their on-field debut during the May 16-18, 2025, series against the Braves, although the team lost two of three games. These uniforms succeed the bold yellow and blue models debuted in 2021, which celebrated the Boston Marathon.
The jerseys will be worn again on May 23 against the Orioles, in a game that will include a promotion for the first 7,500 fans.
The Fenway Greens will replace the navy blue alternate uniforms worn in road games, while the original 2021 yellow uniforms will remain in limited rotation.
