Latin American music, culture, and pride will take over Gillette Stadium this coming Saturday, September 27, when the Revolution takes on Atlanta United FC. Because this is more than just a typical sporting event, it's the Latin and Hispanic Night celebrated annually by New England soccer fans.
Among the notable players of Latin and Spanish descent participating in the team are Brayan Ceballos, Tomás Chancalay, Carles Gil, Leo Campana, and Luca Langoni. They are expected to participate in a night of great pride for the fans and the team as a whole.
Activities and entertainment for the whole family
The evening celebration will begin with activities in the fan zone, between 5 and 7:30 p.m., before the game. Local organizations and consulates will be present to liven up the celebration. Children will be able to mingle with Slyde The Fox, the team's official mascot, who will be in charge of the coloring and face painting station.
On the other hand, there will be a photo booth to capture memories of the evening. And, of course, there will be musical demonstrations and dancing. Rafa Moreno and his band will be setting the pace at the main entrance to the fan zone. And during the halftime performance, he will perform Bolivian Folkloric Fraternity with the cultural dance representation they founded from South America to Rhode Island.
Participants will also be able to meet Dave Ortega, a cartoonist and illustrator tasked with designing the special edition garment for the New England Revolution's annual Latin and Hispanic Night. In this case, it was a scarf that pays homage to Latin American craftsmanship. Honoring the textile crafts found in places like Mexico and Guatemala, with paintings framing the cry "Long Live the Revolution!" And on the other hand, a tribute to Latin American tile designs.
