Podcast details and media strategies

The podcast will feature intimate conversations with those behind her public image: stylists, makeup artists, and hair team. The podcast will also feature guests from fashion icons.
The focus will be on revealing how Michelle and her team transformed the attention (and criticism) surrounding her appearance into a platform for self-expression, inclusion, and symbolic power.
The media company she and Barack Obama founded—Higher Ground—will produce the series.
Two live recordings are planned:
• November 5 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, with Tracee Ellis Ross.
• On November 12th in Sixth & I (Washington, DC), with critic Wesley Morris.
Tickets for the events on Tuesday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time (EST) can be purchased on her book's official website.
Keys and expectations
The Look It won't just be a fashion book; Michelle pointed out that it aims to tell how appearance has been—and continues to be—a symbolic dimension of power, identity, visibility, and autonomy.
In the podcast, Michelle hopes to connect more personally with audiences seeking insight into the lesser-seen aspects behind the scenes. She also raises a debate about visual representation and media pressure.
Michelle Obama also reaffirms her voice as one of the most influential cultural figures in the United States. The Look and her podcast empower women with a language of power, identity, and representation. Through her book, she invites us to reflect on how what we wear can tell profound stories about who we are and where we come from.
