The Trump administration has launched an ambitious expansion effort for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), offering signing bonuses of up to $50,000 to attract new agents and rehire retired personnel. The initiative is part of a massive border security legislative package recently passed, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

According to official sources, ICE is seeking to hire 10,000 new agents over the next few years, supported by a $76.5 billion budget, part of a $170 billion package aimed at strengthening border security, expanding detention centers, and speeding up deportations.

Unprecedented incentives

The operation called Return to Service offers former officers tiered bonuses that can reach $50,000. These include an immediate $10,000 payment upon reinstatement, another bonus of the same amount if applied by August 1, and additional annual payments for each year of active service, for up to three years.

For new recruits, ICE is promoting starting salaries ranging from $49,000 to $90,000 annually, with progressive increases. For agents with prior experience, salaries could exceed $171,000 depending on the position and assignments.

Patriots serving the country

The advertising campaign uses a patriotic and nostalgic tone, with posters that evoke the style of World War II. Messages such as “America Needs You” and “Defend the Homeland” They seek to appeal to nationalism and a sense of civic duty. The language, according to analysts, is aimed at former military personnel, former police officers, and young conservatives interested in immigration control.
