At 36 years old, Tylor Chase, known for playing Martin Qwerly in the series Ned's School Survival Manual, was captured on the street in Riverside, California. The news spread after content creator @lethallalli posted a video on TikTok, where she recognized him walking down the street looking scruffy, bearded, and wearing worn-out clothes. In the clip, Chase introduces himself by saying, “Hi, I'm Tyler Chase and I'm in a Christian acting movement.”
His followers' reaction was immediate: many started a GoFundMe campaign to help him with housing, food, and financial stability. So far, more than $1,000 has been raised to assist him.
“Donations shouldn't come directly”: Tylor's mother
However, Chase's mother has asked for direct donations to be halted, claiming he is unable to manage money or his medications on his own. In publicly shared messages, she indicated that he could receive medical assistance instead of cash, and suggested the creation of a controlled bank account to manage the funds.
The actor's fall contrasts with his past as a child star. In addition to Ned's Manual, participated in the series Everybody Hates Chris and in the movie Good Time Max, and provided voice work in the video game LA NoireAfter 2021, his social media activity became increasingly scarce, until he almost completely disappeared from the public eye.
The video's viralization has sparked a debate about the responsibility of the public, social media, and the support system for actors transitioning from fame to obscurity. So far, there's been no official confirmation of Chase's legal or health status, nor any direct statements from the actor other than his brief appearance in the viral video.
