The conservative organization Turning Point USA, led by Charlie Kirk, announced it will host an alternative halftime show for the 2026 Super Bowl in response to Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny being selected as the headliner for the official NFL show.

The presentation, called “The All American Halftime Show,” is scheduled for February 8, 2026, the same date as the Super Bowl, which will be held at Levi's Stadium in California.

According to the statement released by the organization, the event seeks to "celebrate traditional American values such as faith, family, and freedom" and offer "an alternative for those who don't feel represented by the official spectacle."

Although the participating artists and broadcast details have yet to be announced, sources close to the event claim it will be streamed online and will not be part of the official NFL show. This means it will be a parallel event, not sanctioned by the league, but designed to attract a conservative audience unhappy with Bad Bunny's selection.

The announcement sparked immediate backlash on social media and in the US media, where it was perceived as an attempt to further polarize the most-watched show on US television.

Bad Bunny's selection for the 2026 halftime show was celebrated by the music industry, but also criticized by conservative groups who believe his style and lyrics don't represent "traditional family values." Turning Point USA took advantage of this reaction to launch its proposal, reinforcing its cultural and media presence at a far-reaching event.
