President Donald Trump will lead a major meeting at the White House today, Wednesday, to present a comprehensive plan for the post-war future of Gaza, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff announced. This will be the first time the Trump administration has publicly confirmed a plan for managing the post-war situation in the Palestinian territory.

Who will participate?

The meeting will take place today, Wednesday, in Washington (local time not specified) at the White House, although it has not been included in the president's official public agenda.

In parallel, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will meet with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar at 3:15 p.m. ET (7:15 p.m. GMT) at the U.S. State Department.

The meeting will feature the participation of Tony Blair (former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom) and Jared Kushner, who will advise President Trump on the proposal for the Palestinian territory.

The meeting is also expected to address the delivery of massive humanitarian aid and reconstruction strategies for the enclave.

What is the plan about?

The goal of the meeting is to formulate a comprehensive post-war plan, the first of its kind officially announced by the federal government. The approach combines reconstruction components, humanitarian aid, and a redefinition of the role of groups like Hamas in the future governance of Gaza.

Witkoff revealed that both Israel and Hamas appear open to dialogue, and anticipates that the conflict could be resolved before the end of the year.

The news comes amid an escalating conflict, with a significant Israeli bombing of Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza and further civilian deaths, including five journalists.

Many international voices, including the Pope, have called for an end to the mass displacement of the population and respect for humanitarian law.
