The prestigious annual ranking of US News & World Report Massachusetts once again ranked among the best-performing states in the country. According to the report, 431% of the state's high schools rank in the top quartile nationally, cementing its reputation as an academic benchmark.
Boston Latin School once again tops the state list, also reaching number 46 in the United States. With a graduation rate of 981% and 941% of students passing at least one Advanced Placement (AP) exam, the school reaffirms its excellence.
Other notable schools included Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in Hadley, ranked 96th nationally, and Lexington High School, ranked 118th.

The ranking criteria
In total, US News evaluated nearly 18,000 high schools across the United States, considering college readiness as the primary factor, as measured by AP or IB test results. Math, science, and reading scores were also taken into account, as well as the performance of African American, Hispanic, and low-income students, in addition to graduation rates.
Nationally, first place went to BASIS Tucson North in Arizona.
