Hours before she was scheduled to take the stage, Shakira's concert at Fenway Park was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. Organizers also canceled performances scheduled for the following day by Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn. Fenway organizers assured fans who purchased tickets for these canceled concerts that they will refund them.

“Structural flaws were detected that did not meet the required standards,” the event promoters mention. Live Nation. The organization also explained that it discovered the flaws during a routine inspection before the concert, and assured that all members of the production team are safe.

Shakira's Fenway concert was part of her "Las Mujeres No Ya Lloran" tour, a tour that will visit several regions in the United States and Mexico before concluding in Peru. This performance marked the beginning of the Fenway Concert Series, which will continue with artist Hozier at the end of June.

Concert, Shakira and Boston: A Long-Distance Relationship

This isn't the first time Shakira has had to cancel her performance of "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" in Boston. Last April, the Colombian singer published the first version of his tour. Originally, she indicated that she would visit Boston's TD Garden on December 8. However, Shakira canceled this tour in October, writing on his social media:

“Demand for tickets and more shows has reached such a point that our tour now requires stadiums in the United States and more dates so we can see as many of you as possible.”

With this announcement, the singer postponed the tour until May of this year. Additionally, the announcement included a move from TD Garden to the larger stage at Fenway Park. Fans who purchased original tickets for the November concert received refunds and the opportunity to purchase tickets for the new concert date.

“Don’t Ask Me About Me Anymore”

Unfortunately, Shakira's fans in Boston weren't spared any bad luck this year. The singer hasn't announced a new date for her performance in Boston, disappointing thousands of fans, both city residents and those who traveled from other locations to see her.

The tour of “Women Don’t Cry Anymore” will continue without pause: Shakira will perform at Nationals Park, Washington DC on May 31.
